Training & Learning Programs
With over five decades of experience in training visually impaired people, we found that there are no limitations to excel for the visually impaired people. Where one may see darkness, we find brilliance.
Various training programs offered at The NAB Workshop for the Blind, reflects our commitment to meet a wide variety of abilities, ambitions, and preferences of the students through a comprehensive range of courses and specialized training methods for differently abled people. To meet the global demand of digitalization, we have added more dynamic dimensions into our training programs by offering to train the visually impaired people in computer operations, internet, and other digital technology. The training programs have been extended from classroom learning to industrial-based training, and from practical to hands-on training, to acquire more knowledge and competencies, to expand their skillset and develop future opportunities.
All courses are approved by the Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Examination (MSBVE).
We also provide free coaching in Braille language to all the newly admitted students as the knowledge of Braille is mandatory in every course.
Facilities
In the city like Mumbai, accommodation is one of the biggest challenges. Our trainees come from different parts of Maharashtra and from across the country. To ease their accommodation and commuting problems, we provide free hostel facilities that include safe and hygienic environment and four meals every day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon refreshments, dinner). Our hostel can accommodate 100 students per academic year. In addition to the above, we also offer the following:
- Conveyance, free lunch, and afternoon refreshment to day scholars
- Free medical checkups, medicines, and hospitalization
- Monthly training allowance to every student
- Counselling sessions by trained professionals
- Seminars for boosting their confidence, knowledge, and demonstrative skills

Turner Operator Course
If visually impaired or partially blind people are provided the required skills and the confidence that comes with learning, they can be easily employed in the industries that engage in production and manufacturing.
