Dedicated to empowering the visually impaired people to become Self-Reliant, The NAB Workshop for the Blind is a Public Charitable Trust which provides learning programs, supports and other facilities to the visually impaired people for their capacity building and empowerment. Our endeavor is to leverage the strength of the visually impaired people and transform them not only professionally but also personally to bring them into the mainstream of life.
Founded in the year 1963, The NAB Workshop for the Blind has continued to grow from strength to strength, consistently improving its courses, facilities, and expanded its offerings. Nestled in the heart of Mumbai at Worli, the Trust is supported and partially funded by The Department of Social Welfare, Maharashtra State and affiliated with Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Examination (MSBVE).
At The NAB Workshop for the Blind, we believe that awareness and timely treatment of eyes can save individual from complete blindness. Keeping this in mind the Kantaben & Varjivandas Saraiya Low Vision Centre (LVC) was opened on 19th January 1984.
The center is dedicated to treating people with low vision and has been providing various aids to improve and enhance residual vision at the retina level. The center also provides routine eye checkup along with refractive error, Intraocular pressure slit lamp examination and Fundoscopy.
At The NAB Workshop for the Blind, we strive for the overall development and experience of our students and staff. Through the various different programs, we emphasize the value of diversity and unique experiences; we aim to foster a feeling of trust and community; we want to make everyone feel inclusive and valuable.
