Converting disability to ability
Dedicated to empowering the visually impaired people to become Self-Reliant, The NAB Workshop for the Blind is a Public Charitable Trust which provides learning programs, supports and other facilities to the visually impaired people for their capacity building and empowerment. Our endeavor is to leverage the strength of the visually impaired people and transform them not only professionally but also personally to bring them into the mainstream of life.
Founded in the year 1963, The NAB Workshop for the Blind has continued to grow from strength to strength, consistently improving its courses, facilities, and expanded its offerings. Nestled in the heart of Mumbai at Worli, the Trust is supported and partially funded by The Department of Social Welfare, Maharashtra State and affiliated with Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Examination (MSBVE).
The NAB Workshop for the Blind takes the onus to empower the visually impaired people through education, capacity building, skill development and employment. The training courses, over the years have constantly undergone upgradation from time to time. To meet the prevailing demands of the industry, several innovative technology-based programs have been added.
The Workshop has been playing a pivotal role in boosting confidence and developing the inner strength of students to ignite the flame of “I “to enable them to lead their life independently. Our end goal is to ensure that every student is well-trained in his chosen entrepreneurial skill and is ready to become an integral part of the society.
The dedicated team of the Trust adds unique colors in the dark world of the visually impaired people by identifying their hidden talents such as sports, performing arts, writing & cultural skills. The team also provides training & appropriate platform to enhance these talents beyond education.
We are a team of dedicated individuals. For us, The NAB Workshop for the Blind is not just our work life but it is our life’s work.
